I didn’t know there is a whole community out there of “snail mailers” people who don’t want this written art form to die, did you know?! It’s a movement, a movement of communication, beautiful words, pretty stationary and time devoted to one person.
I started writing letters the day of my Facebook blackout. I purchased printable stationary and dusted off my pretty pens. I licked stamps and sent them off into great red boxes. Princess and I have received thoughtfully filled envelopes since, and my heart sings when I sit down to write each Friday night.
And then one day, I stumbled upon an Instagram account, @DEAR_CORINNE she is undertaking a 100 day project to write love letters to strangers (with Jesus at the heart of it all). Now I’m not one for religion, though I do believe in some sort of higher power, but that’s a whole other topic, but what an inspired idea! So today, I sat down and wrote my first ever love letter, to an unsuspecting friend of mine. I want her to know how amazing she is, how beautiful and strong. I’m sure I’ve told her before, but when it’s in black and white, it can be more believable.
So, apart from writing my normal letters, once a week I want to try and write a love letter to a friend near or far. What do you think, would you be excited to receive your own love letter?
